'The Invasion' news

Warner Bros. Pictures' "The Invasion," the latest remake of "Invasion of the Body Snatchers," starring Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig and officially directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel, debuted in fourth place with a weak, estimated  $2 million.

Action man Daniel's day at the races with his 'Bond' girl Satsuki

Steely-eyed super spy 007 chases a villain across the roof tops of an Italian town as down below riders take to a dusty track for an equally action-packed bareback horse race - it's a scene that will make a stunning set piece when the new Bond movie hits the screens in 2008.

While the camera crew toiled away capturing the race on film, actor Daniel Craig was in a rather more romantic mood as he watched the traditional bi-annual contest, the Palio, in Siena, Tuscany, with girlfriend Satsuki Mitchell.

During their Tuscan day out, the chemistry between the pair was apparent, with the heart-throb often leaning in close to whisper comments to his elegantly dressed love.

Five Qs: It's a Daniel Craig 'Invasion'

You can take the man out of a Bond film, but can you take Bond, James, Bond out of the man? Yes, if that man is consummate actor Daniel Craig, who says that it was easy to explore body snatching with Nicole Kidman in next weekend's "Invasion," a remake of "Invasion of the Body Snatchers."

Bond who?

"People keep asking if I can do other things and put Bond behind me now," Craig muses. "Honestly, I can and this is a very high-class problem to have in your life. I'm not looking for ways to counter Bond," says Craig.

In "The Invasion," Kidman plays a mom and Washington, D.C., shrink who, along with her love interest, Craig, is trying to protect her son from an airborne problem that causes alien mutation. "It's entertainment, but it also makes you think," Craig says of the plot.
